While it may not completely fit the letter of the theme, we were walking along the same paths that workmen once traversed while excavating the very stones originally used to construct the White House and the Capitol Building. It's a stretch, but it's good enough for me!

Awwww. Cute photo.
Stretch or not, this is a cute one.
I don't think it's a stretch, just meaningful in a different way! Hope you two had a great 4th... cute shot!
Sammy's little ruddy cheeks are so cute! My son's pale, too, but has red hair and a true Irish spirit-meaning at the first sight of sun, his whole body turns tomato red, burns or not. Enjoy the Appalachian weather while you can!
your stretch made me chuckle;0. hehe. I think that is totally patriotic to walk the grounds of such rich history of our country!! hehe. Who cares anyways, you got in another picture with the Samsters and for that you get another gold star!! ;0.
It was a sweaty weekend! Glad you were able to knock something off the bucket list!
Glad to here that you're checking off places on your "gotta see" list and making the most of your time in Virginia. Nothing like savoring the moment!
How cool that you get out there & take him to see all these things! So important!
