Making new friends

One of the most difficult things about this move has been leaving our friends and family behind; however, Captain Husband and I can always pick up a phone or hop onto Facebook to see how they're all doing--Sammy can't really do that and I was beginning to get worried about him not having any kiddo-friends his age down here.  I put out a few feelers for playdates and was excited when another mom contacted me and invited Sammy and me over to her place yesterday.  Turns out that this is a weekly occurrence and all of the kids are between fourteen- and sixteen-months old--perfect!

Sammy was the youngest of the group of seven, but he was also the biggest (I got a lot of surprised responses when I told everyone hold old he was); he warmed up to everyone pretty quickly and spent most of the afternoon playing in the backyard with the rest of the gang (and/or his belly button).  I'm really glad that he'll get to make new friends down here, and hopefully I'll make some new friends in the process as well.

Belly buttons are important. He was just making sure his stayed where he left it.

Hope you are all staying cool and away from forest fires.

L, Sammy looks exactly like your husband in the last photo. Do you need to slather him in sunscreen? So glad to hear you're getting out about town. I've found I've made many friends once my kids got into school. Will you be staying in Texas for a while?
