I was all set to write my Memories, Dreams and Reflections post last night, but Blogger was acting all funny and so I went to bed instead. So now I'm stuck writing an early morning fluff piece that will likely not make any sense (especially since I haven't completed my Dunkin' run yet--quelle horreur!). In any case I am very happy to announce that I have found a babysitter for Sammy. I was having one heck of a time finding someone to watch Sammy that I could trust and wouldn't charge me an arm and a leg (I swear, some of the sitters on sitterycity.com charge more per hour than I was making at my former job, so, um, no). Then one day, while I was in the middle of making arrangements for my cat-sitter, Mary, to watch Sandy over the holidays, a light bulb went off. What about Mary? I already know her, trust her and her pet-sitting rates were rather reasonable, so why not add a baby into the mix? She was up for it and we worked out a a trial run before the holidays; Mary came over after Sammy went to bed and house-sat while I went to the gym for an hour. It was pure, sweaty bliss--a full hour of doing something just for me. This week we kicked it up a notch and Mary came over while Sammy was awake; the two got along just fine and I was able to workout and run to the grocery store afterwords. We're going to try and make this a twice-weekly habit; I'm doing something healthy for myself and I now have someone that I can call in a pinch if I need someone to watch Sammy for me. Sweet.

Congratulations on finding her! Good sitters are really hard to find these days. I'm glad you are doing this, you totally deserve some ME TIME once in a while. Cheers!
Hooray!!!! As someone who has had to rely on sitters in past years, I know how important it is to find the right one - and one that you can afford! I've been fortunate to find marvelous sitters who have adored my kids. I had neighbors, four girls, and each one babysat for me during my single mom days and beyond, and have become close friends. Enjoy your me time!!!
I'll see you 10983987 pine needles and raise you 1! But then I killed our tree, so that didn't help any!
Sammy is sooo cute!! Those cheeks are squishable, and those eyes? Beautiful!
Glad you found a sitter. We don't have one since we moved, and it is very frustrating. But...in 2 years, my now 11yo will be 13!! Can anyone say built-in babysitter? :)
I love the smell of a freshly cleaned baby. I think your post was my favorite. Thanks for stopping by.
Thanks for stopping in to visit! Love the ice picture. You have some wonderful photos on your blog. I also had a friend who just went thru "sitter trauma". Godd ones are gold! Veronica.
